Gospel Growth in Sanxia

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.” (Philippians 3:20-21)

To our dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support for the Ministry that God has called us to in Sanxia, Taiwan. Though we love Taiwan, we also often think about you and miss our family of faith back home. We thank God that whether we are in Taiwan or in the States, our ultimate citizenship and identity is in God’s kingdom of grace.

By His grace, our Church Planting project in Sanxia has been moving forward, and we are now preparing to begin support raising through Taiwanese believers and like-minded local Churches. This will give the Church plant some funds for renting a facility and for a salary for our co-worker Michael Liu. Please pray that God would bless our efforts to raise up a local prayer and support team for the Sanxia Church Plant.

An answer to prayer is that Michael has already moved into our community in order to have a more effective presence and ministry. Please pray for Michael as he interacts daily with those in our community, that he would be bold in his Gospel witness.  Michael has a heart for the lost and a humble desire to learn how to best reach out with the love of Christ to those living in Sanxia.

We also thank God for the new visitors we have had to our fellowship over the past couple months. Please pray for a young man who started attending a few weeks ago. During this time he has started studying the Scriptures for the first time. He has been asking many great questions and even though he has not yet confessed faith in Christ, he has already been reading through the Bible everyday.

To help with our outreach to unbelievers in our community, we will soon be starting a Christianity Explored group. Please pray for this 7-week course which will be held at Michael’s new apartment and includes a meal beforehand. Our goal is to have at least 10 people attend, so please pray for the members of our fellowship to invite their non-Christian friends.

This Sunday I will be preaching at New Hope Church (where both Daniel and Joel Linton were pastors) — please pray that I would preach the Gospel clearly and boldly. Michael and I will also have some time after the service to share about the Sanxia Church Plant. We are thankful for that opportunity and pray that God would use it to help stir up more local believers to support Church Planting in Taiwan.

Most of all, we ask that you would pray for Annie and me, for our love of Christ and for our neighbors to increase more and more. That God would be our treasure and we would have a zeal for His glory above all things.

In Christ the Light of the World,

Eric & Annie
